Goal: Nas - wonderful freekick that smacked in the underside of the crossbar, moments after my own fk was tipped away (sorry, I cldnt resist being in the spotlight).
It was a hastily arranged match, which I again find fault with our organizer because unknowingly (despite my reminder to him before), we played a Div 2 leaders.... But look at HT and FT score. The difference? Finishing and concentration. We created many chances.throughout, better than last week. Our midfield had more bite and Sashi was leading the line well. Our defence was as stable as it can get. Maybe the size of the pitch helped but we definitely were brilliant in the 1st half.
2nd half came and the floodgates opened. The usual problems crept in but the difference, was that we spurned our own chances, myself included for shooting straight at GK twice, as much as we were guilty of allowing goals far too easily.
Overall I can't find more fault really, so I will draw on the positives. Bobos, with brand new gloves, was again at the heart of it with his safe handling and one on one stops. We were absolutely magnificent in the 1st half and did not lie down in the 2nd to create chances time and again despite the odds slipping away. The scoreline doesn't tell the pictures of our team performance, as dogged as it was.
I've given the organizer a piece of my mind for arranging this friendly. And as I have smsed most of u, we are pulling out of D2D and going back to friendly. Pressure is off, but it doesn't mean we should Let this last performance slipped by. Let's build on it instead and carry it into next Sun friendly game. Details to be confirmed real soon.
