Hey guys, you may wish to know that ESPZEN had taken note of our blog! For those who do not know about ESPZEN, where have you been playing your soccer?! Google it now!
Haha.
In addition to having read our blog, ESPZEN had also invited us to participate in their league commencing in the middle of this year. In short, I had declined for a couple of reasons, not least because we are embarking on a new adventure with another upcoming amateur league in D2D, which I am sure most of you, if not all, would feel the same in that it is a great platform for us to step up and move away from our usual exhibition matches.
Who knows, by participating in D2D league, we may be already be making history and propel D2D closer to the quality (and quantity) where ESPZEN is right now, if we perform near to our best ability week in and out, which I am sure most of you feel we are capable of. At least I am.
On a more personal level, I feel it is great for our team to carry on build the camaraderie within our team where most of us, strangers at first, are now close friends because of this team. The competitive nature of competition is always bound to bring out the worst in us at times, causing tension within the team now and then. Yet at the end of the day, once the final whistle is blown, this team will stay true to what both Rahman and I had probably envisioned 50 games, 2 special matches and 1 tournament ago; that we are here to enjoy playing soccer because soccer is one of the true passion in our lives.
Mushy, ain't it? - that's me! - but it's true nevertheless.
Let's win this Sunday!
