Vipers Evolution’s crocked goalkeeper Mohammed Yazid has indicated his gratitude towards his teammates, who have shown him great support in his time of need.
The 28 year-old father of four, who fractured his shin in last month’s ESPZEN league match against MRFFC in an unfortunate incident, has been ruled out for half a year and was expecting a difficult period to make ends meet having just recently accepted a job.
Rallied by team manager Rudi Bin Rashid, members of the Team Evo squad including the likes of Naufal, Shahril, Boon Keng, John, Kenneth and Cheng Yao all paid Yazid and his family a house visit following their record-breaking 10th consecutive league win at Orchid Park this Sunday, with the players from the Evo squad also chipping in both to purchase the month’s groceries as well as through other means to support their “brother” Yazid.
At Yazid’s insistence to write up an article of thanks, Vipersfc.net has agreed to help carry his message across to everyone who has helped him.
“I want to thank everyone for coming. Thanks for everything. I was speechless when the guys brought all the groceries. I was close to tears but I controlled myself,” said a clearly emotional Yazid.
“I never had friends like these guys, thanks a lot Vipers Evolution. I really appreciate it.”

I am saddened to hear of Yazid's injury and any awful injury, self-inflicted or otherwise, namely caused by another's thoughtless and reckless tackle, just serves a timely reminder on our motivation to play soccer. After all, for most of us, myself included, we get to play only once a week. Our very own Syaifudean was one unfortunate player who has missed a lot of soccer and it was not even due to another player's tackle. Ryan Shawcross of Stoke City broke the leg of young and immensely talented Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey at the last weekend. While Shawcross showed remorse, his challenge was dangerous nevertheless.
Kambing FC has always been a team of excellent temperament overall, our yellow cards count in the D2D league from the last two seasons are testament to that. Further, in our team history, we have had only 3 players being sent off for an early shower. While it is unfortunate that injuries may be self-inflicted, it is also as equally unfortunate that few players do come to play soccer but their motivation is flawed when a free-for-all threatens to break out at the slightest verbal challenge.
As posted on the article, I do not know the circumstances of Yazid's injury but I saw the bigger picture when the article mentioned he had 4 kids. My last words; do think before you react when playing. A moment of recklessness in a short 80-90 minutes will go a long way in someone's life. It is very certain his livelihood depends on it. I emphasize livelihood.
