Our opponents were one of the best we have played against but, in turn they made us play excellently ourselves especially in the 2nd half when we tried to rally from a 3-1 deficit.

Imran was given the holding midfield role alongside Rahman while Fazli had a run-out on the right flank even though I felt we were weakened in defence, which is why I resorted to deploying Fazli later in the match. We still had quite a good team in general though with plenty of faces on the bench.

All the goals came in the 1st half and they took the lead early into the match when they pounced on what can be called my mistake when I hesitated to clear the bouncing ball bounced just in front of Wilson's goal and the scorer smashed it home into the net.

I made amends when I assisted Farhan's goal to draw the game level. That renewed our team's confidence but for awhile we were outplyayed against a good passing team whereas we struggled to string more than 2 passes.

Inevitably they scored their 2nd and 3rd goals when Wilson was at fault with the 2nd goal and the 3rd goal came from a decent build-up from the left flank.

At half-time, we knew we were playing a very good team indeed. But we dug deep in ourselves to produce a combative and battling performance in the 2nd half.

In a see-saw half which saw plenty of end-to-end action without not much shots on goal, I feel, we deserved praise for giving it as good as we got and would probably have learnt a lot as a team.
