What a great victory. 3 superb goals and a crucial winner from yours truly.

For so long during the match, we were the better team and playing the better football and a defeat, let alone a draw, would not have done justice today.

Wonderkid 16 years old Hasif opened his goalscoring account in his 2nd game for us with an oustanding scorcher. 1-0

Our opponents managed to draw level through their one and only danger man after outpacing me off a through pass, nothing new about this, to slot home past Wilson the equaliser. 1-1

They then took the lead, with only their second real chance in the match through the same scorer, again outpacing me for pace but a goal which I should have cleared moments earlier. 1-2

Minutes later Syafiq got his 2nd goal for the team to draw the match level with a superb curling effort from the top corner of the opponents' penalty box that swirled into goal. 2-2

We were then forced to endure a spell of needless opponents' pressure as our midfield and attack started to tire. This caused the defence to work overtime shift, and is something that we need to work on for future games.

We were to regain the lead just before half time though when Shafi, storming down from the right back position, managed to combine with Omar to score with a real fine chip across the face of the goal that eluded the GK's reach. This was his 1st goal for the club, what a way to open your goalscoring account. 3-2

At half-time, we team talked to adopt a different strategy bearing in mind we had no subs on the bench and Wilson has to leave halfway through the second half as country duty calls (mobilization).

It worked as we got hold of possession more than ever before and stroking the ball around easily. Our opponents obviously had to chase the game but they too were tiring out.

We again created the better chances. Syafiq, who brought his hot girlfriend along causing envious glances among the guys except me of course, and Azhari, still searching for his 1st goal for the team, both shot poorly straight at the GK instead of either side of the goal. As Wilson left the game, Rahman took the gloves. We were playing with ten men.

The spurned chances allowed the opponents to score an undeserved equaliser, albeit it was from a poor goal kick. 3-3

On hindsight, I should have taken it. But I made amends later on when from a corner, I seem to be deadly in these situations, I beat two men at close proximity in the penalty box and finishing well on the ground. 4-3 the final score

There are a lot of lessons learned for sure.

First the need for improvements. 1st, we are still lacking fitness as a collective group. The unnecessary spell of pressure was definitely caused by lack of support from the midfield. The defence did well to soak the pressure though, a great improvement today. 2nd, some of the players were not listening to the team talk instructions before the start of the game. We had a plan but it fell into disarray and at the initial stages, the game was really scrappy resembling more of schoolboys' game.

The positive aspects were there too. 1st, Hasif will be a future star if he keeps on improving, his creativity from centre midfield was telling in the early parts of the games and his slalom dribbles managed to beat at least 3 men most times. From the wings, this would be a useful asset for sure, but we needed that directness from central midfield. 2nd, our flair for beautiful goals came naturally today. 3rd, we did well to pass the ball around playing a patient game. We are still losing the ball too easily sometimes but the chances we created more than made up for this weakness.
