With this win, we have for the 1st time in 15 matches gone on a 2 game unbeaten much streak, with the added bonus that it is a two game winning streak. Our opponents were really tough, lean and fit stringing many short passes as compared to ours but we made our chances count and that was what matters.

We had 3 debutants; Syaifudean hit an impressive debut hat-trick, Omar made an impression for 2nd half at right mid and 12 year old Shafiq was relatively untested but showed reliability when called upon at left back.

We amazingly surged to a 4-0 nil for the second consecutive week by midway point of the 1st half but somehow conceived to run out of steam allowing our opponents to go one better as compared to the 4-2 win last week when they stole 3 goals to force their way into the match at 4-3 and it was still only about 3/4 into the 1st half!

Playing at right-back, it was difficult to describe the goals but from where I stood, our first 4 goals were decently carved out with our the midfield actively involved for the 1st time in weeks.

Syaifudean got a brace early on and I scored with what must be the best goal of the match (a fluke at that) from a free-kick that contrived to head right into the top corner of the post. 3-0 and Fazly said "I'm not sweating!" although I was.

Rahman finally got his 1st goal for the team, he should have had one from a penalty a month ago, but never too late. Much deserved for the most committed player in the team. 4-0.

It was then time to run out of steam. From then on, our adversary dominated and we did not get the ball out of own half much when they scored their 3 goals. Defensive lapses were at fault and I must admit I was partly to blame. I was feeling really off-pace coping with the not so pacy left winger, yet I could not find that extra bit to push myself to close him down. 4-3.

They then had a legitimate goal ruled out for an infringement on Wilson. We had a lucky break then because if the goal had stood it will have been 4-4 and I am sure self-doubt will have been creeping into the back of the players' mind but we made that lucky star even brighter when just before the end of 1st half, we stole one from a wonderfully lofted Azhari through ball who played it for Farhan (?) who passed for Dean to complete his hat-trick. 5-3.

2nd half, I stayed on instead of going to work and it was so worth it to stay till the end to savour this marvelous victory.

Rahman and Huang sat out the 2nd half. It was more evenly matched this time as both teams played open football and we extended our lead to 6-3 when yours truly grabbed his 2nd goal from a corner.

Thereafter, we again ran out of steam but this time, as Rahman had said at half-time, "defence compact". When I was again pushed at right-back I think I did well and the defence excelled very much to limit the opponents' chances, obviously they having to chase the game.

When the match ended, we were celebrating a glorious game of football made sweeter with the elixir of victory. Super tired but worth every bead of sweat that ran down my face.
